There’s a petition coming out of the United Kingdom that I had to share. Salute to Dr. Mumbi Seraki for the notification.
A petition to the UK Government and Parliament is calling on compensation for all African and Caribbean descendants of slavery. It’s been advised that in 2015, Britain’s taxpayers paid billions of pounds to former slave owners who lost slaves in 1833. But the British Empire ignored the impact of slavery on African and Caribbean descendants who’ve faced systemic discrimination in housing, access to capital, job opportunities, and police interaction.
