For the past decade, I’ve noticed that Black Politics has been a hot-button topic in my community. I don’t know if it’s due to Barack Obama’s presidency or the rise of Black consciousness, but organizing and gaining a political education has become paramount to our progression. There are a few independent media outlets who’ve provided substantial content to expedite the process. So Honest Media would like to give an online salute to YouTube personality Afrikan Esq. whose done just that.

Afrikan Esq’s channel is centered around the social, economic, and political issues of African people worldwide. Her detailed analysis of Pan-Africanism and sovereignty across all borders have been on point. With the current tug-of-war between the diaspora, it’s refreshing to hear a commentator advocate for global African unity. And one can only speculate that this is a step in the right direction.
