Greetings Folks,
With all of the depressing news stories out there, it’s always good to read about something uplifting. The following story comes out of Atlanta, GA, by way of CBS46 News.
Jamar Austin, who you see in the featured image of this post, is a Pre-Med, Georgia State student that saved the life of an 18-year-old girl who was shot in the face. The shooting took place inside the student housing facility in the Westmar Student Lofts, West Midtown. Austin advised that he was in his room when he heard a gunshot. Looking outside in the communal kitchen, he saw the girl laying on the floor in a pool of blood with a bullet hole in her jaw.
He stated the following:
“Went back to my room to retrieve my phone and called 911 as I was grabbing a towel, and I wrapped my finger around in the towel and kind of put my finger in the bullet hole to stop the bleeding and applied pressure.
I just looked at it as if I was in that situation, I would hope somebody would do the same for me…I do have hopes and dreams to be a physician one day,”
The young lady is reportedly doing well. You can check out the full story, reported by Kim Passoth, by clicking here.
Much Respect!
Until Next Time…
