The Males Place, Inc. continues to make moves throughout the city of Charlotte, NC. Yesterday, the organization hosted its Annual Ceremonial Blessing of the Harvest, and it was inspiring, to say the least.

The event took place at their garden on 1909 McAllister Drive. It featured music from the Senior African Drummers & Sister Kurstin Moore and delicious food from the Caribbean Buzz.
Some of the phenomenal speakers featured include the following:
- Baba Makheru Bradley
- Mshauri Varnell Bein-Aime
- Mshauri AJ Simmons
- Brother Khalid McRae
- Brother Dahveed Nelson
- Doris Frazier
- Jesse Hamilton
- Jackie Alston
Founder Baba Reggie Singleton advised that this annual event is a central part of The Males Place’s operations. The young members of the organization not only gave a tour of the farm as well as distributed free produce, but they were recognized for all of their hard work throughout the year. Awards were also given to the members for their work with the Rosa Parks Farmers Market.
The Males Place, Inc. is currently looking for adult mentors and young mentees. So if you’re a local in the Queen City and are interested in more information about this organization, check out their official website. You can also stay connected with them on Facebook.
Until Next Time…
