Are you a theater buff or playwright looking for a new story to follow this “post-pandemic” season? Well, The Theater Project is live-streaming a play from the talented playwright Tylie Shider. It’s entitled LABOR.

LABOR—part character study, part dark comedy— follows two working Black house painters, John and Ryan, as they paint the home office of a man who flips houses/rents apartments in gentrifying neighborhoods. The lives of these two men are explained as they banter throughout their workday. For John, the older gentleman, house painting is his final destination; for Ryan, it’s just a stop along the way to something better. Several obstacles will get in their way before receiving payment for their work, one includes a suicide.
LABOR will be streamed from September 16-26, 2021, at 7:30 pm. General admission is $20, students and educators are $10. To purchase tickets, click here.
