Ile Omode School

I came across another African-centered institution for Black youth that I had to spotlight.

Ile Omode School

Based in Oakland, California, the Ile Omode School is an African-centered school founded by the Wo’Se Community of the Sacred African Way. They are an independent and private institution that teaches children from preschool through 8th grade. With a mission to sustain an educational institute in the best traditions of our ancestors, Ile Omode is dedicated to guiding and instructing African youth on their path to greatness. Using African values and community as a framework, they also stress the development of their students’ bodies, minds, souls, and consciousness.
