Uncharted Might Take The Crown

“A remarkable achievement in blockbuster storytelling and graphical beauty, only let down by an overly long third act.”

IGN Uncharted 4 Review

I mentioned in a previous post that I am a gamer and that my favorite genre happens to be action-adventure. Well, I recently finished playing Uncharted 4 and it definitely lived up to the hype. For those who may not be familiar with the franchise, Uncharted follows the globetrotting adventures of an orphan turned treasure hunter Nathan Drake. Many would think that with the popularity of the Indiana Jones and Tomb Raider franchises that Uncharted would be a lost cause. On the contrary, Uncharted has crafted its own lane that has left many fans, myself included, in high anticipation for the next game.

Take a look at the following clip and you’ll see what I mean.

Breathtaking, right? I’m still in shock at the level of progression the video game industry has made within the past two decades. These games are now considered interactive films that can take the gamer to places far beyond their imagination, and I can’t get enough of it.

The fluid combat, jaw-dropping scenery, and compelling storyline/characters have garnered this fourth installment an A in my book. If you’re interested in experiencing this adventure, I would suggest that you play the previous 3 games first. There are backstories to the main characters (Nathan Drake, Victor Sullivan, and Elena Fisher) that will help make the connection between each game that much more enjoyable. But if you’re just looking for a fun game that you can dive into, well, look no further. Uncharted 4 just might take the crown because it’s nothing short of a masterpiece.

Until Next Time…
