In a previous post, I expressed my admiration for farmers who take pride in growing natural crops. With the food industry—particularly here in the West—banking off of non-Holistic products, it’s nice to come across men and women who are investing in the health of others. So allow me to spotlight a commercial farmer who’s succeeding in doing just that.
Meet Maria Zileni Zaloumis.
Maria Zileni Zaloumis is the CEO of Tuzini Farms, a commercial farming company that specializes in growing tomatoes, and CEO of Tuzini Enterprises. Based in Lusaka, Zambia, Maria is a member of the Zambia National Farmers Union and has been recognized as Zambia’s Youngest Female Farmer. Before starting her own company, she studied nursing at the Australian Catholic University in Australia. She received her Bachelors in Nursing, Masters in Cardiology, and Diploma in Business. After relocating back to Zambia, she decided to take over a section of her family’s farm (Mariangale Farm) and turn it into a commercial entity.
I can’t wait to see what the future holds for this enterprise. If you’d like to connect with Maria and Tuzini Farms, check out their Facebook and Instagram pages.
Until Next Time…
