Panamanian authorities have arrested the main suspect in the assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moïse.
According to News 24, Mario Antonio Palacios, a former member of the Columbian military, was detained during a stopover flight from Jamaica to Columbia. He was then asked to board a flight heading to Miami, where he was taken to a Federal Court.
The authorities in Panama haven’t issued an official statement, but Palacios detainment has been confirmed.
So far, 40 people have been arrested in the case.
