In a previous post, I advised that in an effort to combat the masculinity crisis, manhood training programs are beginning to sprout throughout the country. Well, I came across one based in Albany, Georgia. And the amazing part is the founder is only 21 years old.
The “X” for Boys

Founded by King Randall, The “X” for Boys is a man-making organization for Black boys. Their goal is to create men who will become self-sufficient, who will be able to protect and provide for their women & children, and who will be able to go out and earn things for themselves without a victim mentality.
They offer several training programs for the boys, and they are as follows:
- Automotive Repair Workshops: teaches simple auto repairs such as oil changes, brake pad replacements, alternator repairs, tire changes, etc.
- Home Improvement Workshops: teaches how to replace light fixtures, sheetrock, interior & exterior painting, popcorn ceilings, etc.
- Reading Literacy: hosts weekly book clubs to improve the boys’ reading comprehension and vocabulary building.
The “X” for boys is currently raising money to build The Life Preparatory Boarding School that will provide a positive alternative to the violence and gang culture plaguing Black youth in Albany, GA. The deadline for the school funds is December 1, 2021. So if you’d like to donate, check out their official website.
You can also stay connected with the organization on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.
Until Next Time…
