Alleged conspiracy theories will always have space here on this blog, especially those pertaining to extraterrestrial activity.

According to Natural News, former U.S. Air Force Captain Robert Salas is claiming that UFOs deactivated ten nuclear missiles under his purview in 1967. The UFOs allegedly appeared at the Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana, where Salas states that 10 of the LGM-30 Minuteman Nuclear Intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) moved into “no-go” status without warning, which meant that they couldn’t be launched even if given the order. Security personnel at the base also reported seeing lights in the sky and an oval-shaped object during the same time as the incident.

Captain Salas argued that UFOs are a national security threat and urged the Air Force and government to confirm this phenomenon. He continued with the following:

“I think it was simply a show. They wanted to shine a light on our nuclear weapons and just send us a message. My interpretation [of] the message is ‘get rid of [nuclear weapons] because it’s going to mean our destruction.”

The Vice President of the International Coalition for Extraterrestrial Research (ICER), Gary Heseltine, advised that the UFO sighting stems from the U.S. dabbling with nuclear weapons. The former director of the Pentagon’s Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP), Luis Elizondo, cosigned by adding that the connection between UFOs and nuclear weapons warrants the sightings being treated as a national security concern.

In an interview with The Sun, Heseltine stated the following:

“It is likely that when the US detonated the first atomic bomb that it literally sent shockwaves out into space and alerted other civilisations that life on earth has evolved technologically to the point that it could split the atom and create atomic fusion.”

“From that point on it seems that UFOs began to show up near US military installations and worldwide.”

It’s been reported that the United States detonated the world’s first nuclear bomb on July 16, 1945; nuclear bombs were then dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki the following month. The first sightings of UFOs occurred in the late 40s and 50s, so Captain Salas’s claims don’t seem to be a fallacy.
