I saw an interesting article this morning and had to share my findings. The following information is from Africa News.
Mauritius, an island nation in East Africa, is experiencing massive protests over the government’s mishandling of an oil spill. This spill was caused by the shipwreck of a Japanese fuel-carrier that took place in July, which put the nation in an environmental emergency. The damage this caused on the Indian Ocean archipelago (island groups) has affected the lives of 1.3 million people. And a crowd of 25,000 protesters called for the resignation of Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth.
