I came across some disturbing news earlier that I have to share with you all. The following information is from 2Nacheki.
Greece officials secretly took 1,072 migrants and refugees, some of them African, from a detention centre and disposed of them at sea. They were sailed to the edge of Greek water territory on inflatable rafts and abandoned by Greek authorities. The detention centre is located on the island of Rhodes, where Migrants, including babies, are taken while it’s dark. Turkish Coast Guards and other independent sources advised that there have been at least 31 incidents like this in the past few months.
Greece has denied the claims, with government spokesperson Stelios Petsas stating the following:
“Greek authorities do not engage in clandestine activities. Greece has a proven track record when it comes to observing international law, conventions, and protocols. This includes the treatment of refugees and migrants.”
What’s causing migrants, particularly African migrants, to flee from their perspective countries to go to Greece? Is it government corruption, poverty, lack of resources, or all the above?
