This will be a continuation of a previous post. The following information comes from the Military Times.
As a result of the recently passed Coronavirus Relief Bill, over half of United States veterans who receive Social Security benefits will not automatically receive COVID-19 relief funds. The Union Veterans Council, AFL-CIO, is calling on the Trump administration to reverse the decision. This will have an effect on hundreds of thousands of wounded veterans who receive disability, are unemployable, and do not file taxes. And according to the Social Security Administration, over 9.3 million veterans receive Social Security benefits, and this decision will put over half of the veteran’s population at risk of not being able to meet their needs.
I can’t say that I’m surprised by this information, especially with the increasing unemployment rates. COVID-19’s impact on our economy will go down in history.
