Rising Superstars

Greetings Folks,

If you’ve been following this blog then you know that I’m a fan of the WWE. Wrestling tends to get a bad rep at times due to the stereotypes that surround the industry, but anyone who enjoys combat sports can’t deny the athleticism that goes into having a match. And since I’ve been on somewhat of a wrestling kick lately, I wanted to highlight a few up-and-coming superstars who’ve caught my attention.

Ricochet

Nicknamed “The Future of Flight,” Ricochet is one of the most innovative high-flyers to come through the squared circle. Prior to his WWE debut, he wrestled for independent promotions like Chikara, Evolve, Dragon’s Gate, and New Japan Pro-Wrestling. His wrestling style is Lucha Libra, and it consists of an arsenal of moves that only a few people can perform; the 630 Degree Senton being a great example. And his must-see matches are nothing short of extraordinary.

Ember Moon

Skill, honor, and heart are the three attributes to define Ember Moon. Mentored by Booker T, Moon has been nicknamed “The War Goddess” due to her fighting spirit and unlimited potential. She worked the independent circuit for wrestling promotions like Shimmer, Women Superstar Uncensored, and Anarchy Championship Wrestling. Although she has had numerous setbacks throughout her career, she is well-equipped to dominate the Women’s division in the WWE.

The Street Profits

Consisting of the team of Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins, the Street Profits are taking over the NXT’s Tag Team division. Ford is a former track star who uses his speed and agility on his opponents, and Dawkins is a multifaceted athlete who uses his skills from football, wrestling, and track to eviscerate his. Their unique styles tend to commensurate well in the ring. And the swag that they possess as a unit makes for an entertaining match.

Bianca Belair

Bianca Belair nicknamed herself the “EST of NXT,” proclaiming that she’s the strongest, fastest, toughest, and all-around best superstar in the WWE. Prior to her debut, she earned All-SEC and All-American honors in track-and-field at the University of Tennessee. Her competitive spirit and athleticism from her past have carried over into the ring, garnering her remarkable progress and attention in a short amount of time. Her strength is another factor that can’t be ignored, considering the fact that she can deadlift 415 pounds.

I’m definitely going to keep my eye out on these superstars. Given their background and current momentum, stardom only seems like the tip of the iceberg for them. If you have any wrestlers that you’re a fan of feel free to comment below.

Until Next Time..

    1. Thanks, bro. I have cyclical moments where I watch and then I fall off, but I’ve recently got back into watching it. Ricochet is a beast, I hope he’s utilized right.
