Joe Biden’s First Move: Mask Mandate

Greetings Folks,

Our 46th President already has his first order of business once he takes office.

The following information comes from The Hill.

Once President-Elect Joe Biden takes office, he plans on calling governors around the country to enact mask mandates in their states. If those governors resist, he will pressure mayors to enact mandates at a local level.

According to an NPR tally, more than 20 states require a face mask to be worn in private businesses and public settings. So far, the U.S. has more than 10 million confirmed cases and 230,000 deaths from COVID-19.

I have a rhetorical question:

  • Aside from optics, how much of a preventative measure are face masks?

In a now-deleted press conference that took place at the Supreme Court, medical experts advised that a virus is one one-thousandth time smaller than a hair and masks are completely irrelevant in blocking it; the virus is airborne, so no one is safe.

If you add in the fact that only half of the American population agreed to get the vaccine once it becomes available, then you’ll see that many of us are not buying the fear-mongering done by politicians and the media. But who am I to doubt our next President.
