The Freedom Georgia Initiative

If you’ve been following this blog, then you’re aware of the African-centered communities being built in Ghana. There are also quite a few conversations being had about rebuilding Black Wall Street here in the United States, and I happened to come across an organization that’s invested in making this a reality.

The Freedom Georgia Initiative

Amid racial injustice, COVID-19, and economic disparities, The Freedom Georgia Initiative was created to establish a safe haven for Black families and their allies. President Renee Walters and Vice President Ashley Scott advised that 19 Black families came together and purchased 96.71 acres of land in Toomsboro, GA. As a Limited Liability Company (LLC), they are seeking to support black-owned, woman-owned, and veteran-owned businesses to well-qualified vendors. Their ultimate goal is to provide a recreational, educational, and cultural destination for Black Americans.
