COVID-19 Passport Apps?

The United Nation’s Digital ID was highlighted in a previous post, and I knew that it was only a matter of time before this “solution” made its way to the United States.

The following information comes from the New York Post.

Several passport apps that will verify a person’s coronavirus vaccine & test status are currently in development, and it will be used for traveling and attending large gatherings.

The Commons Project Foundation and the World Economic Forum, for example, launched the Common Trust Network that will partner with airlines as well as healthcare systems to implement their app. Referred to as the CommonPass app, users will be able to upload their COVID-19 test results to prove they received both doses of the vaccine. It will then generate a QR code that will be scanned by flight attendants and security personnel, listing the health requirements at the traveler’s departure/arrival destination.

For those who may not have a smartphone, companies are also developing a smart card that can store the same information.

I’m confident that this new normal will come with severe backlash. The behavior of many over the mandating of masks and social distancing proves it. But restricting travel and social gatherings unless you show your vaccine test results will take the nation’s hostility to another level, especially when less than half of the population is in agreement with getting the vaccine.
