What is 5G?

Although I’ve heard about this network since last year, the countless conspiracy theories on 5G concerning the coronavirus prompted me to do some research.

5G is a 5th generation mobile network that will interconnect and control machines, objects, and devices all without human assistance. This internet connection will have faster speed and more reliable connections on smartphones and other devices. It will offer multi-Gbps (Gigabits per second) peak rates, ultra-low latency, massive capacity, and more support. With 5G, the average download speed is expected to be around 1 Gbps.

This unified connectivity will rapidly connect people and information as well as accelerate the Internet of Things technology. Many are predicting that 5G will have the same effect on the economy as the automobile and electricity. 5G’s effect on the globe will be felt by 2035, with up to $12 trillion worth of goods and services potentially being produced. Its value chain (OEMs, operators, content creators, app developers, and consumers) could also generate $3.5 trillion in revenue by 2035 and support up to 22 million jobs.

Now, how is this tied to the coronavirus?

According to BBC News, many are pushing the conspiracy theory that 5G is causing the spread of the coronavirus. They’re claiming that it suppresses the immune system and that the virus can be transmitted through the radiation in 5G technology. Associate Professor in Cellular Microbiology at the University of Reading, Dr. Simon Clarke, called these theories “complete rubbish.” He advised the following:

“The idea that 5G lowers your immune system doesn’t stand up to scrutiny.”

“Your immune system can be dipped by all sorts of thing – by being tired one day, or not having a good diet. Those fluctuations aren’t huge but can make you more susceptible to catching viruses.”

Strong radio waves can cause heating in the body, but 5G isn’t strong enough to affect our immune system. Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Bristol stated that 5G can’t transmit the virus. He advised the following:

“The present epidemic is caused by a virus that is passed from one infected person to another. We know this is true. We even have the virus growing in our lab, obtained from a person with the illness. Viruses and electromagnetic waves that make mobile phones and internet connections work are different things. As different as chalk and cheese.”

My main issue with 5G is the same one I have with artificial intelligence, privacy and security. We’re headed towards a totalitarian society where freedom will be limited and personal information will be accessible to everyone. How our bodies may react to this network can’t be any worse than how they’re already reacting to the pollutions of the planet. But the fact that our every move, transaction, and personal data can be monitored is problematic to me.

Until Next Time…

Wow it’s crazy the conspiracy theories that people will come up with surrounding co-vid 19. Technology is scary and I am very careful about doing anything online nowadays myself. I haven’t heard that one that 5G can actually transport the human virus. Great job bro doing the research to keep the public informed on what really is going on.

    1. Yeah, it’s crazy. I understand where people are coming from in regards to radiation. But there’s radiation in just about everything we use on a daily; cellphones, microwaves, ovens, computers, etc. Not to mention chemtrails, chemicals in our food, and polluted water. So we’re already poisoned in some way.

      But thanks for reading, bro
