On April 25, 2002, the world lost a musical heavyweight. Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. Since she was so influential throughout my childhood, it’s only right that I pay my respects today.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Lisa “Left Eye” Nicole Lopes was a member of the Hip Hop/R&B group TLC. Lending her rap skills to the group, TLC’s first album, Oooooooh…On the TLC Tip, produced three Top 10 hits. Their follow-up, CrazySexyCool, sold more than 11 million copies and featured three No. 1 hits; earning the trio two Grammy Awards. And their third album, Fanmail, earned the group another pair of Grammy’s.
Although her life was cut short, her legacy will continue to live on. So let’s vibe to some classics in honor of Ms. Lopes.
Until Next Time…
