“Don’t you lose hope, get some hope. But if you give up because you had a setback, you’ll never win. Nobody goes forward in warfare and doesn’t have to make a retreat, a strategic retreat, to develop where they were weak to come back strong. But when you give up and punk out; ‘there’s no hope for us.’ Stop it. There’s always hope if your hope is in God, in the truth, and in yourself.”
I was browsing YouTube when I came across an interview from one of the most powerful voices in my lifetime, Minister Louis Farrakhan. The interview took place on Muhammad and Friends, and the topics of discussion ranged from black economics to scholarship to all-around black nationalism. Minister Farrakhan’s messages have been resonating with me for the past few years, and the amount of genuine, unapologetic love that he has for our community is unmatched and well-respected.
